Shine Lawyers is now seeking a driven and experienced Paralegal (Personal Injury) to join the team in Cairns that always aims for the best for their clients, on a full time or part time permanent basis. Ideally, you'll be enjoying a professional career pathway as a paralegal.

The Role

  • Assist Solicitor with the day-to-day operations of files/client management
  • Be the first point of contact for clients and answer clients’ enquiries
  • Working with mixed file load including WorkCover, Motor Vehicle and Public Liability matters
  • Prepare matters for conference and hearing including preparation of court documents, legal documents and general correspondence
  • Drafting briefs, documents such as claim forms and schedule of damages and liaise with Counsel 
  • Correspond, brief and liaise with medical practitioners and other experts
  • Coordinate medico-legal appointments, compulsory conferences and mediations
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships both internally and external to the organisation
  • Manage complex databases of information
  • Devise systems to support information retention and accessibility
  • Administration tasks as required
  • Full-time or Part-time, Monday to Friday
  • Location - Cairns

 Required Skills

  • Min 1 year sound Personal Injury experience in a Paralegal role is essential
  • Demonstrated experience in either MVA, PL and Workers' Comp will make your application competitive
  • Common Law file experience preferred
  • Client service oriented, strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail 
  • Experience with time recording and being WIP conscious
  • Good understanding of Pre-court and Court processes
  • Ability to work as part of a team and achieving targets
  • Proactive, self-starter and displays initiative
  • Ability to show great commitment and see matters to conference collectively as a team
  • Comfortable to work under pressure when needed
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Experience using Elite would be advantageous
